The project has an estimated official budget of 810,000 UF, and includes the expansion and improvement of the passenger terminal, the construction of 152 new vehicle parking lots, the extension of vehicular accesses to the site and the expansion of the aircraft parking platform, thus enabling the operation of larger aircraft.
Along with this, the actual capacity of the airport will be doubled to receive three million passengers, the surface of the terminal will increase from 9,900 m2 to 16,000 m2 and will go from five to six boarding bridges.
Puerto Montt is the third airport in passenger transport nationwide, which after its remodeling can strengthen the supply of flights to and from the Los Lagos Region with high standards of infrastructure and services.
The airport is located 14 kilometers west of the city of Puerto Montt, with an elevation of 90 meters above sea level and an area of more than 25 hectares. Currently, it has a flight path of 2,650 meters in length and 45 meters in width.
